Rpf1’s rubbing in front FD Rx7

I have a set of Enkei rpf1’s that are 17x9 +45 with 255/40/17 Federal RS-RR’s tires that I just mounted on my FD. The front tires seem to be rubbing the fender. I know this is considered an aggressive setup for the front but I’m wondering if anyone else was running this setup who didn’t have to roll their fenders? The car was freshly painted so I’m worried that rolling the fenders will damage the paint.

What is overall width. What camber? My wheels are 17 x 9 + 48 with 255/40’s and nothing rolled or rubbing. I think -2 camber which is close to stock IIRC.

I had the same issue with your exact setup. It was just my driver side (probably because of my additional weight) and only happened at weird angles.

are you lowered? i'm surprise at +48 offset......i run 18x9 +35 on 255/35 tires lowered like 40mm and stock camber. i had to due a slight roll... but at stock height no issues.

No the car is at stock height right now, but I will be lowering it next week. The suspension is in pretty bad shape so maybe it just needs an alignment?

Perhaps measure the right and left ride height now, before you lower it next week

Damn, I just ordered this same size assuming it wouldn't be an issue after reading countless threads, and my car is pretty low as is. Did you lower your car yet?

If you're at or near the recommended 25 inch height from ground to center fender (with a near-stock alignment), you should have no issues with this setup. Currently, I'm running 17x8.5+35 with 255/40s which do bulge a bit. They should fit nearly identical to yours, just with more back spacing by about 0.5 inches. No issues on stock fenders with no roll or pull. Lock to lock, or under compression.

Awesome thanks, my fenders are rolled all the way around so I should be good!
