Rotary engine in a Jet Ski?

I heard somebody put a 13B motor I to a Jet Ski.
Anybody know this guy?

I just Googled "rotary jet ski" and found a lot of information and some YouTube videos.

I was trying to find some information on how to do this swap and all I can find if I google is videos, pictures and comments. I am interested to know how you deal with the prop issues and with the cooling issues. Is there anybody in this forum that know more? I know OMC(Johnson Marine) was trying their own version of the Wankel and failed. Also Mercury Marine Failed as well. Atkins Rotary has a kit for a boat but not for Jet Ski or Outboard drive.

check out freedom motors in davis california, they have developed plenty of small mazda rotary design based engines that work for many applications. they originally developed them for the flying car and for government contracts but neither panned out. most of their engines are air cooled but they do have some that were actually designed for watercraft.

Thanks, I looked over the Rotapower and They bought the patent from OMC Johnson Marine, but they are charge cooled rotors and they fail to run well at constant 1,800rpm or less which is what you need to go over no-wake zones. In top of that, their 3-Rotor 1500cc engine barely makes 150hp. so they suck. Mazda Rx-7 motor is the best just need to know the tricks of how to make it work.

I've seen a rotary powered snowmobile before, never seen a rotary powered jet ski. Good luck with your project.

Atkins makes a bunch of stuff to adapt Mazda rotary engines to marine use:

But as far as connecting a Mazda rotary to the jet pump, you're probably on your own. Might just be as simple as a love-joy coupler though I don't know at what RPMs those pumps turn at.

Probably too much engine for it anyway.

why? inline 3 is better for a jetski.

RX7_Nut13B has a Rotary Jet Ski...

The engine is mounted at least - beyond that, I don't think it has jetted or ski'd at all. :)
