Review: Redline 45DCOE top mount linkage

I wrote a little review as info on this part.Enjoy.
I ordered this linkage for my 83 GSL with a weber 45DCOE sidedraft, stock port, not 100% sure it would fit under the hood, but I figured I'd take a chance.

Fortunately install went very smooth, and it looks much more attractive than the homemade apparatus I brazed together with leftovers from my stock carb.

Only minor issue I had was figuring out a cable stop, because you DO have to use the cable provided, the stock one is too short.

If you go to Oreilly or autozone, in the HELP section, you will find little brass cylindrical cable stops. Not quite as sturdy looking as the factory lead ball that stops the cable at the top of the gas pedal, but it seems to have done the trick. I doubled the cable through the hole, and put red locktite on the set screw. Been driving it for a week or so with no trouble.

One other little issue, and this may be more obvious to experienced weber dudes, but don't over-tighten the throttle plate bolt when you install the new linkage, it will bind ever so slightly at idle, and you'll be chasing a ghost trying to figure out the proper idle speed, because it will change every time you drive it.

I've seen a few of the treads started in the first gen section about sidedrafters and their homemade linkages. I would strongly recommend the redline one, my throttle response is crisp as hell, and it feels like a different car entirely.
