Replace stock suspension?
I'm about to put some 15 inch rims (Rewinds, or something else, idk yet) on my fb. With rims that size, would lowering it an inch or two cause rubbing, i.e., would I need to roll the fenders or something? Or would it work just fine? Thoughts on coilovers, lowering springs, etc...

Rubbing would depend on the offset, width, size of tires, etc.

I'm looking at 15x7 rims with 205/50/15s...it seems like any wider than that could cause issues... As far as offset goes, I really am pretty new to the Rx7 game and am not sure what a good offset would be for a 1st gen

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-non-...ffset-1074826/ Thoughts on coilovers, lowering springs, etc... coilovers with these cars aren't exactly a simple affair. from what i've seen of it, it's pretty much an all or nothing commitment because they can really weird (pronounced: dangerous) things when lowered too much without addressing other issues. if you're just looking for "the look" or "stance" it can be done and done reasonably. i honestly would recommend just getting some springs and appropriate dampers and call it a day. |

diabolical1 thanks for the help/info. After lots of research I pulled the trigger on some 15x7 +20 Rewinds, to go with BFG 195/50/15 Sport Comp 2's. Pretty excited. As far as suspension goes, sticking with some simple spring sounds like a good idea, and probably what I will do eventually. I want to see what the wheels will look like on the stock suspension first.

Good to hear. I've been wondering if I made the right choice or if I should have gone with a slightly more weather-friendly option seeing as I live in NJ. Have you been happy with their performance in rainy weather?
