Hey everyone. Can anyone tell me the hp range on airresearch t04b turbo. Ive looked before but I mostly find hybrid ones. I'm considering going to the gtx35r. But I don't wanna go to big and loose my low end boost. The hp range id like is 350-500. In that area

Ive heard lots of good things about the Garrett GTX series, pretty damn good for the price. If your looking for maximum spool and reliability than you can pay a little more for Borg Warner's new EFR series turbos talked to the guy at the borg warner booth ant SEMA and im pretty sold on them, lowers spool rpm's by the 100's.

Isn't that the same as the gxt? Cuz I know.the.new model is suppose to.spool way faster but still hold top.end.boost as well

Hmm. I'm no means an expert in turbos .. but a hp range of 350-500 is quite a large range especially when your biggest concern is spool time. A gt35r will definitely keep you around ~380-440whp depending on trim size and mods and hit "max" spool by ~3650 rpms all around 15psi. You want fast spool, you lose top end breath-ability. You want a high top end, you sacrifice some "spool" time unless your willing to crank up the boost of a smaller turbo but then you get diminishing returns. If your looking for a very fast spooling 350-380 hp turbo, a to4e would be great. If your looking for something to get more towards the 450-500whp range turblowns tdx61 would likely be a better option.

If you haven't already, it would be a great idea to contact either Elliot @ username Turblown on these forums or Sean @ A-Spec although Sean is usually very busy. That way they can recommend the best turbo for your intended application. It wouldn't make sense to get a large turbo that has the potential to put out 500whp if your only going to end up wanting/needed say 350.

I looked into that turbo.. I didn't find a compressor map but based on it being quoted as a 500hp turbo for a cylinder engine.. you have to remove about 33% off that max hp range for a rotary. Rotary's also produce quite a bit more exhaust than a typical engine as well and choke up easier as I mentioned and the "hot side" has to be properly matched to your "cold side" setup. I tried to edit but couldn't.
