Questions about buying a used 3rd gen rx-7

Ive read that they can be unreliable and that its not uncommon to replace the engine at 60-80k

But how about the chassis? ive found rx-7s with 5k on rebuilt engine but that have 70-80k on the chassis.

Assuming they havent been in any accidents will the chassis be in good shape with that many miles, and how long can i except the chassis to last?

thanks

if you want a rotary, be prepared to look after it. if you take care of it ,the engine will go past 70k. the chassis will last, just do your part for the car, and the car will do it's part for you

The chassis will last a long time. Like most other car's the problems lie elsewhere and mostly with negligent previous owners.

I found mine with 60k on the body and a brand new motor. I love it! no problems yet.
