My preference is the black poly ones. They're gaphite impregnated which acts as a lubericant. Won't squeak like the red polys will.

I used a press to do mine,save the time and effort.

You'll have a good bit stiffer and more crisp handling. I'd do it.

When I freshed up my ae86's suspension I put in some prothane bushings. It REALLY helped. Every control is a little more precise and crisp. They do at a bit more road noise though.

I vote do it.

The polyurethane bushings dont flex as much under stress as the stock rubber ones do, this in turn keeps your suspension from over flexing and allows for the correct suspension geometry for improved handleing.

I would deffinatly recommend upgrading.

Iirc, the prothane bushings are stiffer than the polys. I still stand by the black ones. I've ridden in cars that had the red polys and the squeaking can get irritating.

It depends on what you want I'd go for the poly bushings for a stock replacement/weekend warrior.

But if your kinda like me an noise doesn't bother you go for the heim joints and spherical bearings. Here is some good reading for suspension modification.

Very informative site, thanks for posting. I do have a few spherical bearings on the widebody, LCAs, front tension rods and and the adjustable rear sway bar. The heim joints on the rear bar are particularly noisy for some reason, It was a bit disconcerting at first.

Super Pro bushes are supposed to be pretty good over in the uk anyway, thinking of doing mine soon
