Problem solved

I bought an 88 vert with less than 75,000 miles. Good compreshion, good spark, good rotation, but no fire. I have replaced starter, plugs, wires, fuel pump, fuel filter, ECU, fuel injectors. Now I think I have found the problem. The air injection/smog pump was siezed and had snapped the belt. So I had no kind of vaccum. Any one else think that could be the problem?

The air pump does not produce engine vacuum. The engine does that. The air pump can be removed with no consequence if you're not intending to keep the emissions systems intact. An engine needs 3 things: air, spark & fuel. You seem sure the first two are taken care of, so make sure fuel is being injected. You can test fuel pressure by tee-ing a gauge into the feed line after the fuel filter. And you can remove the spark plugs after cranking to see if they are wet with gas.

You were right. The pump didnt solve the problem. any ideas? do you think it could be an electrical short, even though I am getting fuel, spark, and compreshion?

you posted that you have good compression and good spark......what about fuel?

If the fuel is ok, then it could be flooded.....

there are numerous deflood procedures to help you start the car....
