87 FC N/A rx-7 afm or maf issue

So I'm still having a few issues with my fc and I decided to check out the maf and I'm still new to this so it weirds me out how it is,but in the car there is a continuous alarm going off that when I push the flap in(engine off) turns this alarm off and just wondering if this is just the car telling me I need a new one?
