Power Steering pump issue

The power steering pump was leaking heavily on the car, and I decided to replace the seals/gaskets in the pump. After removing the pump, and replacing seals/gaskets and re-installation the pump sounds awful. I have tried to bleed the system by following the fsm on the bleeding procedure but after almost 2 hours of continuously trying to remove all the air it still sounds awful. Even after the 2 hours, the fluid sometimes bubbles up out of pump tank when the car is running. Now I am unsure if its a problem with the way I put the pump back together, or if I haven't removed all the air from the system. Is there some secret trick to bleeding the power steering system? The fsm made no reference to a bleeder valve, but is there one hidden somewhere?

Which pump (Koyo?) I couldn't find a kit for mine (86) that included the O ring at the side cover. That was leaking so I had to improvise and make a new gasket and also silicone the wires as fluid was leaching out of the rubber grommet that holds the wires in place.
Mine also sounds wrong, ticking sound, and i wonder if not having enough fluid in there caused some minor damage. What sound are you hearing (ticking, groaning) as that would help diagnosis. Also, have you tried the obvious full left and right steering to help push up any bubbles? You may have a mechanical issue in there from running with low fluid.

were the lines installed backwards? I know its a really easy thing to do but sometimes small stuff like that happens?

Any *fixed update on this? my buddy has a very similar problem but not sure if the lines routing is causing the major issues. Hope you solved your problem.
