Power FC injector driver blown - Is it possible to successfully replace component?

Hi guys,
On some (bad) advice and still being a rotary newbie, I didn't run resistors with my 1680cc secondaries. Now my FC with a FD Power FC will start up, but the primaries will cut in, out, in, out about every half second or so. I presume it's a blown injector driver and my research has led me to believe that the component is NEC upa1556ah, can anyone verify that this is correct? I could only check the primaries as I couldn't build up load to get the secondaries to cut in, so does this component control both sets of injectors, and if so is it just safer to just get another Power FC and be done with it?
Bear in mind that I'm a hard up drifter!
Any info is greatly appreciated,
Mike

I am intrested in that blown powerfc, want to do some testing on it, consider selling it? Give me a pm about it.

It must be repaired by A'PEXi in Japan. Trust me... I burnt up the 5V reference in my PFC and didn't have the money or time to get it repaired. I ended up trading it off as it was.

This comment is coming from someone who's never messed with a powerfc so I may have no idea what I'm talking about but have you tried adding the resistors now? I could see wrong voltage causing an unexpected pulse width in any number of areas or it could just be doing a safety shunt/shutoff momentarily due to higher voltage then coming back on, shutting off, etc.

I'm just the type to try everything before assuming an IC is dead. If it is dead, how well can you solder? How big are the actual solder points?

Normally the injector driver will burn a channel out. I have replacement parts to fix them. Apexi is charging alot of money for what I can do as well.

does anyone know where i can find a guide to help me tune my fd with pfc i just got the car and it is already installed and i dont know if the tune is any good yet as i cant start the car it has a bolt in the intake at the moment (the reason i ended up with the car on the cheap)

Here is the Power FC forum -> RX7 Club: Power FC Forum

You're going to need more than just the commander to tune it.

Where the hell were you when I burnt up the 5V reference in my PFC last year!? lol - Too late now. I brought it to computer repair places and talked to a Boeing electrical engineer... NO luck.

A'PEXi can repair most Power FC's from anywhere between $175 ~ $650 depending on damages to the chips, resistors or entire circuit board replacement. Yes, all repairs are performed in japan and turn-around time can take anywhere from 2 ~ 3 months because they are sent back in batches to save customers on expensive shipping costs. They also offer expedited services for an additional fee of air freighting it by itself. To start the process you will need to fill out the return form and submit it online in order to obtain an RMA # to send back for inspection and repair.
