popping noise from clutch

when i press the clutch pedal there is a poping feeling? noise?.
more like popping feeling. what is it?

From the pedal itself or does it sound like its coming from the clutch itself. If pedal, may be the clutch master cylinder is binding up. may possibly be needing replaced or rebuilt.
