Oil and Spark Plug Types?

Hey guys~

I just acquired a 1990 GXL RX7.
Winter is coming up here in Minnesota and I want to get the spark plugs and oil changed before it gets really cold~ Do you guys have any recommendations for oils and plugs? I was reading the topics about 20w50 and all the synthetic oils. Most of everyone was from a warm place though. I want to know what oil that would run fine during the winter time~ I was like thinking 5w20 since it gets pretty cold here, but before I did it wanted some second opinions on the oil. I dont think I am going to run synthetic cause I dont want to have to premix the oil. And then spark plugs, will the stock NGKs run fine? I'm trying to keep my gas mileage as high as I can get it~ Performance isn't an issue here during the winter time~

I used to run 10W30 in the winter when I drove the RX-7. The owners manual, Haynes and FSM has a oil weight chart based on temperature an usage.

The stock NGKs are fine.

Since your from Canada I'm going to assume its much colder up there~ Haha~ So I think I'll run with 10W30 for the winter time then~ Thanks for your opinion =).

Did you have any other ideas/guidelines for "Winterizing" the car? I know I'm going to have to get new tires and probably put some sandbags in the trunk~
