Oil pressure 1988 fc converti

Have a non turbo Rx 7 88" I seem to lose oil pressure after 2 in a half months of a fresh oil change is it normal due to the fact that there's oil shorting in to my rotors ?

misterstyx69 02-08-16 11:42 PM

Not enough info.
have you driven it often?
checked the oil level?
Verified that there are no leaks?

SAFiimoto 02-11-16 01:03 AM

Yes I do drive the car often I have it as my daily there are no leaked what's so ever I've been under the car multiple times. I feel like it's because I am using the wrong oiler might be to thin is that a possibility

misterstyx69 02-11-16 01:05 AM

well it could be.
differnt viscocity will flow at a different rate.
What oil are you using right now?
..and also how are you determining oil pressure?.stock gauge?

SAFiimoto 02-11-16 01:12 AM

Yes stock gauge everything is stock beside my exhaust and my suspension. I am using 5w30 oil right now. What happened is that I'll do an oil change and my gauge will read at 30lb of oil pressure I'll drive it for about 2-3 months and my pressure will slowly start to go down like a lost if I had no oil what's so ever when it hits 0 I'll put a quart in and it will go back up to 30

Your engine consumes oil as a lubricant for the internals so it is not uncommon for it to "eat oil".
You are in a hot environment so I would recommend that you change your oil to a thicker viscosity than a 5w..lt is not a NEW engine,.
The engine will run fine on a 10w30 or a 20w40.

By the way,Check your oil..OFTEN...not when you think it needs it.
Checking oil every 3 months is like playing Russian Roulette.

That and depending on your commute, rotarys are horrible at getting gas in the oil and diluting it

SAFiimoto 02-12-16 02:08 AM

You guys are a big help ! Thank you for the time and information ! I'll keep you posted on what's going on with that issue. Do you know much about boosting rotarys

Yep..snap the steering column and hot wire it,,.drive off.
(oh were you talking about Turbo'ing it..sorry!..lol!)

I made 357 RWHP on a stock T2 engine and adding off the shelf parts.NO internal mods.

You'd be best to start with a big cup of coffee and some spare time as your inquiry would be so Vast that it would never, ever get answered in one thread.
Besides if it is already available the guys here have a tendency to not type it twice!

I really want to put a turbo in the car I really don't know where to start everyone is saying I have to rewire a new computer in to the car

Well the info is here for your pleasure. The question comes up every day.
So unfortunately you won't get many individuals dying to give you the info when the stuff has been talked about so much..kind of like Kardashian:..Girl or Ghoul??...discuss....lol!
Look up N/A to TII or search along those parameters.
Trust me,I have done a couple and ALL the info was found on this Forum, especially in the SEC GEN SPECIFIC and ARCHIVES Sections.
(my last build netted 357 on a TII engine.)
