Oil Metering pump rebuild kit

I own a rx71991 convertible non turbo. I just checked the omp and am getting 1-2 cc of oil out of the two front lines when running at 2000 rpm for 10 minutes with premix. the unit is electronic. Is there a rebuild kit available? Any way to adjust it to make it put out more oil? Book says take it to Mazda. I've gotten several ests from them on other parts and I am not thrilled with their prices. Is premix the answer? Any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can give.

The S5 metering oil pump is electronically controlled based not only upon throttle position but load as well. Though it does sound like yours is a little low.

I don't think there is an easy way to rebuild the pump but thankfully, they are fairly cheap when purchased used.

For the time being, a little premix will suffice.

Agreed. Load may make a difference in the output. Not that familiar with the S5... wouldn't it generate a CEL if it wasn't working properly?

MAZDA's prices on these are crazy. AFAIK, they are not designed to be rebuilt. At least that was my conclusion after examining the one from my 3rd gen. And I've never seen a rebuild kit. Good news is I bought good low-mileage used one for ~$50 shipped.

Hi, Thanks for the information. Just to let you know, the service engine light never came on. Checked computer, no codes. I will take your advice and go with minimal premix.
Thanks Again for the quick postings!
