Non-sequential - odd setup
RX7 FD '93 (Upgrades: HKS air intake, non-sequential [before I bought it], downpipe] So I began the vac hose replacement after a lot of research and was as careful as I could be. Of course I messed up at some point and now she idles weird and the check engine light comes on right away. First off the setup I ran into is nothing like anything I could find on the web before, during and still after. I edited this diagram as close as I could from what I remember during the process. Mind you she was running rich before with a stuttering idle off and on before the install. Towards the end of the install I lost track of where two lines went, these are marked 1 and 2 near the double throttle. 1 I believe ran somewhere but I am not sure where and 2 also ran somewhere but I am not sure where. I thought they might loop into each other (after not finding any info on it) so I did that and finished up. When I started the car it ran weird and the check engine light comes on right away. She runs even more rich and chokes a lot till I cut it off. It is a cold start, but she idles 200-500 rpm higher than before. I am not sure where to go from here, would the best option be to use one of the non sequential diagrams out there that is similar to what I have and change it over to that way? Because I wonder if the last owner messed up the vac job when going non-sequential.

I'd start with you checking the vacuum line routing in order to determine if you have it incorrect.
Maybe visit this site and see if they have a vacuum routing diagram in the manuals. Foxed.ca |
yep start checking vaccum system first
