No start, no fuel pressure, weird button
2 Attachment(s)
Some background: I have an 88 NA that doesn't start but cranks over and fires with ignition fluid. I have checked the power to the fuel pump and it's getting power. Here are some pictures of this weird button that I believe connects to the fuel pump housing, it is also grounded.

That 'weird button' is a protective cap for the Positive wire.

Jumper the fuel check connector and see if the car starts.

it is a 2 wire connector..T type looking.. (looks like this sort of thing: [-- ).plastic and yellow,. Here is Satch's previous description: It's part of the emission harness and is between the engine and passenger fender well. The harness feeds the boost sensor. The connector is encased in a Black rubber boot. The plug is Yellow. It has two wires where one is Brown and the other is Black. The circuit opening relay has these two wires on the bottom row of the plug. These wires being jumpered achieves the same thing. The relay is Black and Yellow and located under the dash and to the right of the steering column. Has 5 wires in all (3 on the top row and 2 on the bottom row). |
Ok, thanks for the help. Trying to avoid buying a new pump, the housing has proved to be a real pain to get out.
