No power to the ignition fc!

My car started fine every other day until today I can out turned the key and no warning lights came on went to crank it and nothing I checked fuses and ignition switch harness even swapped out the ignition switch and nothing what can this be ? My headlights and hazards work battery is chargerd please help

Did you check the main fuse in the engine fuse box? If the wipers work w/key to on then the fuse is good.

10thannaaron 04-04-15 03:59 PM

Wipers don't work I checked the fuse it is good I will swap it out for good measures

There's a wire coming off of the main fuse (trailing coil side of the engine fuse box) which is black and it runs below the fuse box to a similar black wire. On one side of the plug connecting these two similar wires there will be constant voltage as supplied by the battery while on the other side of the connector plug there would not be any voltage when the connector plug is unplugged. If you have voltage one of the two sides then the connector plug is likely loose as the reason why when plugged in the voltage to the ignition switch is not receiving voltage. If everything was good to go there would be constant voltage at the Black wire at the ignition switch.

That was the problem when I swapped the fuse the one wire was corroded works again thanks a lot I really appreciate it. Also I have one more problem my interior lights or sun roof switch won't work fuses are good

The Red/Green wire of the headlight switch harness should have voltage w/the switch turned to the 1st position if the illumination fuse is good. If the wire is w/o power then the switch is bad.

Luckily I have a rx shell I used the assembly from it I sodered the metal buld holders back into place and it worked now the door lights wont come on -_-

satch 04-04-15 05:53 PM

Are you talking about the small lights at the bottom of the door?

10thannaaron 04-04-15 05:55 PM

Yes they were working before

satch 04-04-15 06:00 PM

They are powered by the room fuse via the Blue/Red wire so you might want to check this fuse. If the fuse is good perhaps you can pop the light housing out to gain access to the two wires running to it. The Blue/Red wire as already mentioned should have constant power. The other wire awaits a ground signal to activate the light. If by chance the Blue/Red wire has power then place a ground on the other wire to see if they turn on.

I figured it out it was the door switches wasn't getting a good ground one last think my sun roof won't work when I press the button nothing happens motor not clicking at all

Did you check the sunroof fuse? W/key to on it should supply voltage to the G/O wire at the sunroof switch.

10thannaaron 04-06-15 01:18 PM

G/O wire has power with key on but nothing happens when I press the switch bad switch?

Could be the switch or a bad relay (there are two of them).

Rx7speedstar 04-06-15 08:21 PM

Maybe fuse

10thannaaron 04-06-15 08:47 PM

It was a bad relay thanks a lot I really appreciate it
