new to rx7...need help

i am a marine stationed in japan. i just got a 1992 rx7 fds3 and and it is an awesome car, but im having problems with getting parts for it. first problem is the language barrier over here, i cant just got to a car shop and tell them what i want they just look at me like im crazy. second problem is i dk if the rx7's over here are able to use the parts from back in the states, idk if right hand drive makes a differnece or not or if everything is just setup differently. can anyone help me out and point me in a direction of where to go for parts?

It depends on the problem whether or not the RHD effects it. Whats the problem?

RX7ANDRX8MARINE 02-24-10 07:22 AM

there isnt any problems with the car i am just having problems finding aftermarket parts for it caue i cant talk to the people off base here.

Then whats the aftermarket parts?

RX7ANDRX8MARINE 02-25-10 12:28 PM

mostly engine mods, such as a downpipe, intercoller, a pulley kit, exhaust manifold, and i got a bunch more in mind too. as for exterior mods im just lookin into a carbon fiber hood and wheels and tires for now.

I would be concerned with the downpipe, and exhaust manifold. As in US cars they don't have to be designed around the steering rack. Maybe you can call up the manufactures and see if they will work?

almost all manifolds will work from my experience, i have yet to come across one that wont yet..as for downpipes..most of them will work also..in the odd cases depending how they were made and designed you may have slight fitment issues..

feel free to correct me anyone if you know exactly which ones have fitment issues..

but most of the time you dont have to worry

ok cool thanx guys. do either of you reccomend any good aftermarket parts?

Jay Efini 03-04-10 12:42 AM

all depends what your going for in terms of goals

however you should glance over at the 3rd gen section and do some of the reliability mods if none are already done..

then figure out your objective with the car and go from there..
