New to rotary help me :;(

Just switched from 240s to rx7s sold my 4runner found what seemed to be a clean 88 rx7 convertible guy told me it flooded everything it shuts off no matter what temp it's at or how long it had been driving but told me the egi fuse trick but here is my p4oblem I've tried the egi fuse and I still can't get it to start at all took all left too and bottom spark plugs out because the right side couldn't get off socket kept slipping off and they were wet and smelled of gas cleaned off and did what I had read and put a tsp of oil in the bottom and put it back together still doesn't start it'll try like starter spins as it should and what not but no fire tested fuel pump by jumping the 2 wires it works but still only way I've gotten it to start was by roll starting it a few days ago any ideas on what I could do ?

Sounds like a compression test is in the offing. Also, have you tried to start the car using a very small amount of starter spray.

Yea tried starter spray affected nothing but I sprayed pretty hard while gf turned key

Usually only a second or two of spray will suffice. As mentioned, a compression test is a good place to start. With test numbers you'll know where you stand.

DO NOT spray starting fluid and crank at the same time. That can cause a big fire. Like mentioned, just a couple of seconds of spray. Your just testing to see if it will run. It will only run for a few seconds on spray.

Smoke comes out of middle of exhaus to also when doing the fuse outhe trick

A 2 second deflood won't due if the car is severely flooded.
Do this:
EGI out.
Plugs out..clean them or try a new set.
Roll engine over 10-20 seconds.(just long enough so that you think the excess fuel has been expelled from the internals)
Put it a shot of oil into the plug holes..
Roll over a couple seconds..(3 is good)..clean up plug holes.
Plugs back in,wires correct?
EGI back in..
hop in and start it.

Did compression today each try on leading and trailing holes were all under 70

Test results are best w/a warmed engine otherwise your engine seems like it's best days were behind it. Also, a severely flooded engine lowers the compression.

Bought am 86 gxl from original owner. Been driving it for a while. Started smelling like gas/exhaust in cabin. I stopped the car and poped the hood, smelled like gas (don't light a cigarette). Is it the pulsation valve? Or exhaust leak?

You could see the pulsation damper so it would be somewhat easy to detect if it were leaking. Also, if the carbon canister is not doing its job then the car would smell like fuel. And the engine normally runs rich which can often give off a gas smell especially in confined quarters.

Ok. I'll check it out. Where is carbon canister located?
