New owner of a GSL-SE
I just Bought Sweetege's GSL-SE.
https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-rx-7-1979-1985-vehicles-109/fs-1985-gsl-se-13b-streetported-820842/ I am going to return most of the interior to former glory and keep it as a streetable car, I can take down to the track for autoX/Drag once a month or so. I thought I'd ask what you think I should do next to it performance-wise. I am saving dough for a Garrett GT35 Kit but that'll be a few months out. I am thinking I'll need to upgrade the fuel pump first-ish?? He estimates HP at 150 currently. I am looking for something closer to 300 (once I get the Turbo) From his Ad: Engine/Drivetrain: 13-B 6-port Streetported and rebuilt at 160,000 miles REPU 9.2:1 rotors 3mm 2-piece steel apex pieces 1-piece solid corner seals 720cc injectors Conefilter Permacool electric fan RB header, with custom exhaust and powerpulse muffler 88 RX-7 transmission Magnaflow FRP NGK Plugs Suspension: Ground Control coilovers on front using Eibach springs and Tokico Illumina shocks Same GC and Tokico setup on rear Suspension Techniques front sway bar, a little over an inch Brakes/Clutch: Goodrich stainless steel brake lines all the way around Goodrich stainless steel clutch line Replaced clutch master and slave Clutchmasters stage 3 clutch RB Lightweight Flywheel Interior: 4-point harnesses on both seats Kirk Racing 6-point Bolt-in Roll Cage Stock metal sunroof CLA Pedals Power door lock actuators, ready for remote Racing Seats Body: Fiberglass rear bumber Whaletail spoiler |
If you only want 300HP, then go with the GT30R and not the 35. The 35R is more suited to the 350HP to 400HP range.
Keep in mind that turbocharging a GSL-SE 6 port is not bolt on. There is no kit that exists. |
thanks. off to welding class I go.

Actually maybe it's best to enjoy the car as it is for a bit. It's interesting there isnt a bolt on kit for 1st gens. seems like it would sell like hotcakes.
|
I'd be happy to make such a kit, but few would pay for it. A full bolt on kit will probably cost significantly more then most people paid for their cars.
