Hey guys i'm new and have a few tech questions that hopefully ya'll can help me with.

first, is there a good way to do a beehive delete because from everything i'm reading they are garbage anyway.

does anyone have a good step by step on removing the rats nest because the one i've looked at and seen people talk about is hard to understand if you're new to rotarys. i need it more barney style is all i'm saying. arrows and subtitles are good! lol

is the oil metering pump really that important or can you do a delete on that too?

i know i'll have more to come.

I'm guessing 1st gen from the beehive oil cooler talk. I've seen a 2nd gen engine converted to use the beehive cooler, so going the other way around probably isn't too hard. The 1st gen FAQ at the top of this section may be of help.

The metering oil pump is vital to the engine. If you want to remove it, you'll have to start premixing 2-stroke oil into your gas.

LOL I was lost for a second there on the beehive talk...Guess u can tell im a 2nd gen owner...OMP injects secondary oil onto the seals of the rotor keeping them lubricated...Like stated above if u delete it you'll have to premix EVERY time you fill up, which entails adding a certain measured amount of 2 stroke oil into the gas tank. Corksport sells the steel braided replacement OMP lines as a kit. Personally I prefer the OMP less hassle & headache.

someone posted that it's beneficial to take off the intake manifold and plug the coolant passages with freeze plugs? how exactly is that helpful? inquiring minds want to know!

Don't worry about the beehive, they work just fine. My first motor went to 213,000 miles before it coughed up an apex seal. :)

my beehive is already speawing oil right now and i have yet to figure out how to get it off/fixed or do whatever i've gotta do to fix this freakin thing. oh and the odometer is readin 105k but who knows how long the speedo hasn't been working....

When i first bought my rx-7 the OMP was disconnected and i had to pre-mix the oil everytime you fill up. It gets to be quite costly because you don't just use the cheap weed eater 2-cycle oil and your car also spews blue smoke out the exhaust like a 2 stroke. I hooked it back up in a hurry. Less hassle and also alot smarter. The function of the OMP is to trickle oil down through the top of the engine to help lubricate the top of the rotor housing because the rotors have a tough time getting the oil from the oil pan all the way up to the top of the rotor housing. Think of it like painting a wall, if you dip the brush in the paint and drag it up the wall there won't be much paint left on the brush by the time you get to the top, much like a rotor in the rotor housing. That's where the OMP comes in trickling the oil in at the top so it doesn't have to carry it up from the bottom.
