New Exedy Clutch not disengaging
 

Hey Fellas, I have recently acquired a 93 Montego Blue Rx7 and I love it! Problem is, I bought the car with a blown out clutch and have been having a hell of a time figuring out why the new clutch won't disengage.

The old stock clutch would disengage (Allow me to shift while the car is running) but would not move due to mass slippage.

The new clutch is an Exedy 10802hd which came with a new pilot bearing, and release bearing which have been installed and functioning correctly.

Hydraulics and pedal pressure are perfect along with clutch fork movement.

My last hope is that the flywheel is causing this due to the excessive amount of material that was removed to get the flywheel back to a decent state.....but I do have my doubts.

Sound like your T O bearing is not engaged with the clutch cover via the wedge collar and wire ring. To check this remove the slave cylinder and the mount it sits on. This will give you access to the clutch fork. Also remove the other access cover on the tranny. With a minni pry bar or a screwdriver or whatever works, you need to pull the clutch fork towards the tranny as far as possible. You should here a click, that would be the lip on your T O bearing locking into that wire ring.
