New Car- what can you tell me about this engine bay

This is my new ride. never got into rotaries before, but Ive done my reading.I think I bought a good example of the car. So here goes. Im going to see if any of you can tell me something I dont know already. Here is my engine bay. It is a Mazda reman motor (done in 2002), OMP removed, power steering removed, AC removed, converted to manual steering rack (i love it), the secondary exhaust valve is wired open for some reason, maybe someone can tell me why you'd want this, RB header, test pipe, port/polish, TII style LSD, larger apex seals at rebuild. So what dont I know about this?

What don't you know? I dunno.. Only you can answer that.

I would say that I have no clue what you're talking about with a secondary exhaust valve being wired open. That might be something to look into, as there are no such things as exhaust valves on these cars...

Perhaps it's the Aux intake ports that you're thinking of...
They're wired open because they're supposed to be activated by the air pressure from the air pump which has been removed from your car.

The air pump on the S5s activates the Aux Ports and the Variable Dynamic Intake.
Dependent on how they're wired open or shut, you either lose some top end, some bottom end, or over all power.

I'd also look into getting rid of that tiny belt that goes only on the water pump and main pulley... Gotta ask yourself, how do you add or remove tension on that belt... If it's too tight, what is gonna happen to the bearings in that water pump or the main eccentric shaft bearings?

Look into a double belt pulley for the alternator.

thanks pele. ill look into the belt

And look into the red wires going EVERYWHERE... Looks like someone tried to build a ground system...

There's a much simpler way to do that that doesn't involve a metric ton of copper.
