need help after engine bay fire
 

So after having the pulsation damper leak I had a fire in my engine bay and all the old wiring got burnt up.
As a result I'm switching it over to carburated but there were some sensors in front and right of the intake on top od the block that I can no longer identify (attached photos). I've looked through diagrahms and they all seem to be from emissions but I wsnt to me sure so any feed back would bw amazing, thanks guys.

I'm not too sure being a first gen guy and all, but I think you're looking basically for a label for anything that may have had something similar to what all my emission wires were hooked up to in my car. It was probably all relays and solenoids but not too sure as to what they might have been on a 2nd gen. 1 of them probably belongs to the AC if its overly similar to 1st gens but we'll have to wait for someone that knows something to chime in.

If you're switching to carbureted don't worry about any of that. None of it will actually effect anything.

Yeah that's what I was getting I just wanted ro bw sure that I won't need any of it.

Ghost1000 I've already got everything I need to do the switch but after a recent motorcycle accident I havnt been able to do any work.

So update time after getting the carb installed we foumd out part of the harness is fused together from the alternator and we can't remember what the small wires on rhe back are for. I csnt find anything in the diagrams help please

Those last 3 pictures look alot worse than I thought they did when I took them. Basically the fire ate the insulation off of all the wires in the harness, including the 2 that normally snap on to the back of the alternator. So to keep it simple, does anyone know which of those 2 wires are positive or negative and where do they terminate at so I can just run some new wires where they need to be.

Hook up a multimeter and check for voltage on each wire with the key to ACC, whatever one has voltage is the positive. Obviously you need a battery installed for this to work.

Fair enough, but I'm more worried about it shorting something else when I do that since it also appears that in this harness was run the wiper motor as well as all the emissions garbage that, while it has been pulled, will still try to run and possibly cause an even bigger problem by killing the alternator. I might be overly paranoid about this but if I can help it I'd rather not kill the car.

So update time everything Is now installed it took a while seeing as I had to wait in a new fuel pump. Anyways running into a plumbing issue for the fuel pump, anyone have suggestions on how they have done It or find it works best?

It's a 1986 FC. What's wrong with the intank pump?

Its actually a 88 i havnt changed that yet. Nothing now everything is plumbed and the new mallory pump is running, but we are not getting ignition. I think it's because we still have to use the stock ecu for timing but nothing should have changed. So now I am at a dead end.....

Ps I have spark, fuel and air.

pull the motor, wire tuck, repaint the engine bay!!

Should of used the stock in tank pump.
