My worst nightmare??? OVERHEATED MY FD

MY WORST NIGHTMARE?
ok so I bought a 94 rx7 about 3 weeks ago I drove it home fine from san diego to los angeles which is a 98 mile drive. The next day after work i turn on the car to go for a drive and when i get in the car I smell gas, so I look under the car and see a puttle. I then push the car back(ofcourse its off) where I confirm that the puddle is fuel. so i call the dealer to tell him what was up and that he has to come tow the car and have it repaired. At this point i want this car still and dont want to return it so i investigate it myself on the site to see wat it may be and if its nothing major, i learn that it may be the fuel dampner so i call the mechanic the same day they get the car and tell him, they said they inspected it and knew that already( they towed it back to san diego to their local mechanic by the way). The car was ready 2 weeks later because they had to wait on the part(fuel dampner)and that ups was backed up due to thanksgiving and the holidays. So the car was ready this wed and i went to go pick it up it drove good home i didnt push it at all(i wanna get a boost gauge and temp gauge on their first which ive already purchased and received) yesterday it drove good to work and back 10 miles each way this mornin it was good today after work it ran good untill i got to the corner of my street where i noticed smoke coming out of the hood and i look at the temp guge and it was at H. I was gonna turn the car off right there but i was at the light making a left so i decided to just park it at my house. the only thing different about today is that there was alot of stop and go trafffic and lights. as of right now im not sure wat to do the car has 78,000 miles on it no mods does any have any information on what it might be and if it can be fixed.

A few things....

PLEASE, PLEASE, make some effort to form understandable sentences and use punctuation. This is not an IM conversation. There is plenty of time to put your thoughts into a form that everyone can understand. It took me three tries to read your post before I could figure it out and it literally hurt my eyes. Ultimately not writing clearly is only going to hurt you because it will drive people away from your posts and be a major deterrent to them providing accurate information.

Second, a dealer knowingly sold you a car that was LEAKING FUEL ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD and then just said "Yeah, we already know about that" when you called? If I were you I would have the car inspected by a trustworthly and competent third party mechanic. It sounds like it has a few problems, some of which could be deadly. Leaking pulsation dampers burn RX-7s to the ground.

Now, about the overheating. The first thing you should do is flush, fill and bleed the cooling system. It is possible for air to be trapped in the system if this is not done properly. Next, check the operation of the electric fans. You will find the FD FSM in the FD FAQ, which will have procedures you can use to check the fans, relays and temperature sensors. It sounds like the fan is not operating correctly.

sorry about that, i was so worried about the car that i didnt even revise what i wrote. And no, the mechanic is the person who told me that it was the FPD not the dealer. Sorry for the confusion of my post and thanks for the help. Ill be sure to do the flush in the morning.

Also, do u recommend that i drive the vehicle or should i have it towed to the mazda specialist" Rotary Power usa"?.

man that sucks. sorry to hear.

If you not mechanically inclined I would send it over to a known good rotary shop. Unless it's real close I would not drive the car.

Get that temp and boost gauge installed soon for sure. It's hard to tell what your temperatures are doing without an aftermarket gauge.

I changed my thermostat and water pump at 60,000 miles, along with installing a Fluidyne radiator.

I don't know anything about "Rotary Power USA" so I can't recommend them either way.

Any good mechanic should be able to check the cooling system as per the FSM. It's really no different then any other cooling system and the same symptoms will occur with the same faults. The only exception is if you have a cooling o-ring leak. The symptoms of that are similar to a head gasket failure but nothing you've described makes me think that way.

the rotary shop is 10 miles away.. i going to install the temp and boost gauge today and also doing the flush on the cooling system.

No way to know if you cooked your motor until you fix the problem and try to start it.

FYI in the future any sign of overheating or coolant on the ground and you must stop the engine immediately. With a broken cooling system you can fry your engine in very short order.

The leaking fuel thing is scary. I don't believe a dealer is permitted to sell a vehicle that doesn't pass inspection. But I'm not sure how you're going to prove anything, except to file with the BBB and report them to their manufacturer's customer service line.
