Well Since I can not post anywhere else on this forum (seems kinda gay since Im trying to help people out) I figured I would share it here. Ive searched for days on what breaks on the window regulator and door handles and it seems everything is on convertables. I think someone tried to break in the car and finally broken the plastic window regulator, But I dont see any pry marks so I do not know how this happened. I just bought the car like this. 1989 RX7 TII Coupe.

First off I removed the door panel, window regulator, window, then removed everrything else, inside door handle, lock assembly and latch then lastly removed the outside door handle. Its not real easy to do but not difficult either.

So on the door handle the rivets that hold the metal bracket that swivels broke, so I ground the top of it off and drilled all the way through the center. Then used a screw to hold it all together

After I did all that, I figured out that theres a bulb above the lock cylinder thats supposed to illuminate it. I chose that now would be the time to fix it, but instead of an regular incandesent bulb I used a single LED and a resistor and soldered them in, here it is. Its alot brighter in person. Hard to get a picture of it illuminated.

Now on to the window regulator.
It was broke on the part that attaches to the window.
I glued it all together then drilled a small hole from the back side all the way through to the cable in the plastic, then I used a larger drill bit to sink the head of the screw, this goes through the metal and is plenty strong by itself but I decided to drill 2 more holes and run wire through them for extra strength.

Then I cleaned up everything and lubed it all up well. Works great. and I am happy that I didnt have to replace any of it. (couldnt find a regulator anyways.)

Mods feel free to move this to the correct location since I can not post it anywhere else.

Hope this helps somebody that was in the same prediciment I was.

Thanks, I didn't think this would be the correct section for it.
