My car won't move
 

Ok, so as the title says, my car won't move. Well it can move, but the brakes are engaged as if the parking brake was on so that's not good.

The parking brake handle went up and down with no resistance at all, so I figured that the parking brake cable was the problem. With the help of the internet I stupidly cut the parking brake cables hoping to temporarily be able to move my car, but nope, the problem still persists.

The sun just went down so I have no light to see or try anything else for today. Any suggestions? And, yes I'm a total noob when it comes to fixing my car. If nothing else works I'll just take it to a shop where hopefully, my minimum wage job will be enough to pay for the costs of whatever is wrong with my car. :(

You should let us know what model year etc. etc, you have ..
Jack your car up one wheel at a time and try turning each wheel separately find out which wheel is not turning and check the brake linkage to see if some of the mechanical assembly is stuck . It is possible that the brake pads are stuck to the rotors also .

It's a 91 NA Coupe. And thanks I'll try that out in the morning. If the brake pads are stuck, do I just pry them out? With like a screwdriver?

yea just worry them a bit and they should come loose if that is the problem., watch what you do so you don't screw things up prying .. if that is the problem sometimes just applying the brakes fairly hard ( don't push the pedal through the floor ) that might break them loose .. You can also check the arm on the caliper (where the cable connects) and see if it is stuck in the "engaged" position. This happens a lot in Michigan due to salt corrosion. Probably more likely than pads stuck to the rotors, but that isn't out of the question either.

My caliper pistons froze up on my when mine sat for a while. I just worked them off the rotor and carefully pushed them free with channel locks. Worked fine for two years after that.
