my car caught fire!
 

So after being the proud owner of a s4 fc for three weeks, my luck has turned. Don't know what caused it but my car caught fire in the engine compartment and torched all of my fuel injection harness. Along with a bunch of sensors and vacuum lines and what not. I want to go carburated but I'm not sure what I need to keep and what I need to get rid of. Help me please. I bought a manifold for a holley and have a few holley carbs to choose from. I don't know what to do.

The fuel pulsation damper leaked.

Why would you want to downgrade to a carb? Easiest fix would be to simply buy a new EFI harness and related components used from the classifieds section of this forum.

And buy a new pulsation damper.

I had the carb and the manifold was 230 new, so I figured it would be cheaper. Also I attempted to take out the engine harness and replace it with one I bought but could not mange to get the old one out of the firewall from the inside. However when I bought the harness, the guy gave me a distributor, harness, ecu, efi manifold, and ecu for $100. I made a deal with Ryan at R&R rotary in glendora, ca for my car to be fixed. He's going to put my intake back on and replace the vacuum lines and all my sensors that burned and my harness for $300. And he is going to replace the fuel pulsation damper because he told me the same thing, it leaked and caused the fire. Does this sound like a good deal? Thanks for the help man, I appreciate it.
