my 86 glx wont crank over sometimes
First want to apologize for any bad spelling, Now to my problem, my glx will start normally when I don't drive it for like a day, then it will I'll drive to work turn it off then try to turn on again, and nothing. So after a lot off research here before I became member and calling friends back home that are not noobs with rotors all pointed out to the open circuit relay, change it and still have the same problem, I would really appreciate any help.

Do you mean starter cut relay or circuit opening relay? And when you say 'nothing' do you mean the car turns over but does not start or the starter does not engage at all?

1 check to see if the car was flooding and no it was not flooded when it happened the first time. 2.check to see is my fuel pump was and no it good 3. After researching here and giving the symptoms to the 2 people I know that have rotors, that seamed like the relay was mostly likely the problem. Sorry for my bad typing currently recovering from injuries so I am in a lot of pain and typing with one hand |
Try jumpering the fuel check connector. Same thing can be done by jumpering the bottom two wires of the circuit opening relay ( Black wire and a Brown wire).
And to make sure it is deflooded you can pull the relay and spray 1 to 2 seconds of starter fluid into the intake and try to start the car. Should fire up for a few seconds and die out. Then plug the relay back in and try to start it in a normal fashion. If this works then it would point to a flooding of the engine. Could be caused by various issues. |

Mr sacth I have an up date, haven't done what you told me yet, but I turned the car on today just to warm it up, pop the hood just to check if I again if my grounds where good I found one the was lose., might that be part or the source of the problem? He is a pic

That is a condenser and not a ground. It is used to smooth out fluctuations in the current. There are two of them, one for the coils and the other for the oil pressure gauge.
