Redo the exhaust system...don't mess with the Nikki carb unless you're already a racer who can tune carbs. ;)

i think there is all ready a header on and it is straight pipe to muffler, can i put a spacer between the carb and intake i heard that it will give it some more power but that was with a different car, no i am not a racer i am just trying to get a little more out of my car without spending much money. what about timing.

spacers don't add power. get an aftermarket carb and intake for ur egnine and a free-er flowing exhaust. the when the engine gives out, tear it apart and port it.

thanks i have look and look and the only carbs i can find are weabers and the price tag is hight because you have to bye a intake and carb kit to convert you are looking at about $700-$800 thats just a little out of my price range i only payed $400 nothing wrong with it its red that is a problem for me

I bought a used Weber 45 DCOE on this forum with intake for 400$. This is a good place to look for stuff like that. Keep your eyes peeled in the classifieds.

Carb: www.sterlingmetalworks.com

You need to confirm what you have for exhaust. It should be easy to see if there is a header on it, just look. Also check if there are any catalytic converters on the car (these are restrictive).

Throw on some lower profile tires, which is an easy way to reduce the gear ratio and makes the car quite a bit zippier.

There are also some ignition modifications that you can make. Look in the 1st Gen FAQ section for details.

Installing an electric fan can make the car a bit more lively in the lower gears.

Removing anything that doesn't have to be on the car can lighten it up, which makes a big difference. There's close to 100 Lbs of junk under the hood that you might be able to live without (emissions, air pump, air conditioning, etc.).

My car has had all of this done, plus a lot of suspension parts from www.re-speed.com

Here's a short video from our races last weekend, the first three clips are of my car:
