Mazda rx 7 fb 1984 s2 12a engine problem

Hey guys i recently bought a rx7 fb but wanted to get the license plate today but I just noticed when I drive the car there no problems at all until I drove it past 30 km/h and the car started to run on 1 rotor and a few minutes later it shuts off any idea what it could be related to

welcome to the board. :)

before anything, here is a link to get a copy of the FSM: Foxed.ca

now, my first suggestion would be for you to change the fuel filter and see if that fixes it. if it does not, then we can look at other things.

Should post at least what year the fb is. It came either carbureted or electronic fuel injection.

should also go back to the basics and check for fuel, spark, compression.

and it’s always best if you can make a video and post it for others to examine.

at the risk of speaking out of turn, i think the SE was a North American model only. so the rest of the world got 12As.

i think the UK got some of the turbo cars or they were built/commissioned by a third party (Elford) or something to that effect, but those aside, i think the rest Europe only got 12As with the Nikki. at some point (i'm unsure what year), they did get the SE suspension and wheels though, so i'm guessing that might be a possible source of confusion.

I'm no help, but I'm having similar problems with my '79. I'll follow this thread to see which one of us comes up with a solution first. I'm working hard on mine because I'd like to drive it before it gets cold. you can read the thread and see everything I've done so far. good luck

have you already done the basics - fuel filter, cap, rotor, and plugs?
