manual trans shifters??
so as you see in many racing vehicles is the simple front back shifting nob. Where might i be able to find that product or does it depend on the transmission

well i am not exactly sure what it is i was just wondering if all of the formula d drift cars have one off shifters or if you can buy those

Very rare and expensive units made by HKS and Greddy and some others. I'm not sure exactly what the price is, but probably in the neighborhood of 20k delivered.

What you want is called a "sequential" manual transmission, which typically costs around $5,000 to $35,000, not including labor. You could also get an aftermarket electro-hydraulic unit for the OEM manual transmission, but it isn't going to be cheap, and I'm not sure if there is much point in trying to upgrade the OEM transmission when there are better racing units available.

even if you can afford the sequential shift trans, you have to learn the proper shifting technique. heel and toe aswell as double clutching on the downshifting. double clutching on the downshift is mainly for preserving transmission life, and you have to blip the throttle to match engine and trans speeds. it takes awhile to learn properly. i would suggest going to a driving school to learn how to treat a sequential trans without detonating the thing.

With a sequential tranny you can just rattle through the gears to a stop can't you? ^^^

you could but it would be detrimental to the syncros and gears eventually. typical rule of thumb is leave off on the clutch, rack it on the upshifts, and clutch on the downshifts. i have a good video that explains all of this somewhere.
