Maintenance parts concern
 

Hi, quick question, I just bought a 2002 fd3s bathrust from japan and wanted to know if all the maintenance parts are the same as us 93+ version? like oil filters fuel filters air filters etc..?

Oil and fuel filters yes...they're the same. Not sure about air intake box changes and that filter. If they 'look' the same, they're almost certainly the same.

Thanks! yes I have searched images and the airbox looks the same, not sure if some minor changes if someone know for sure will be great, also what sparkplugs should I get? complete stock engine, NGK what code?

Stay with stock plugs NGK BUR9EQ Trailing (Top) and BUR7EQ Leading (Lower). Look for the raised 'T' and 'L' on the housings to guide you. You can also pay a little extra and get the platinum versions (BUR9EQP and BUR7EQP) for a maybe a little longer life. Change them one at a time so avoid mixing the wires up and use a little low-temp anti-seize on the threads. The Factory Service Manual tells you to do them from the top after pulling the intake elbow. I think it's way easier to do them from the bottom. Your call.

Ok, I have been reading and searching in the forum about the sparkplugs and read one comment saying that if you dont care about emmisions its better to run 4 BUR9EQ (trailing) because it can reduce knock? How true is that and if its, can I run them just to be extra safe?

You can but they will probably foul sooner and starting and idle might be affected.
In my opinion if its stock and you're staying at stock boost there's no reason to do that.

I'm jealous that you can buy and import a car that new... We have to wait 25 years here in the states. Did you have to jump through any hoops to purchase and import it?
