LSX swap difference

Hey everyone, I'm sure this has been beaten to death quite a bit, but what are some of the major differences while doing a lsx swap from the FD and the FC? I have tossed the idea around of buying an already built car so does anyone have experience with both versions? I would also assume the FC will be cheaper?

FC would be cheaper but the same LS motors that can fit in the FD can fit in the FC.

Everything is different. They are two vastly different cars. The only thing in common between the FD and FC are the front brake calipers. Sort of like it is different to swap an LSx into a 60 VW Beetle vs. a 2011 Ford Escape.

There is a helpful Other Engine Conversions subforum on this site which will have loads of info.

I know everything is different from the FC to the FD Rx-7. I was trying to say that the same LS(x) motors that can fit into an FC can also fit in an FD like the Corvette LS1 engine. Maybe not all of them can but some. Ive seen an LS1 in an FC and an FD. I would go with an FC because buying the car itself is cheaper and you can save money towards other parts to build the project as if you were to buy an FD.

They all fit, for the most part. But the Other Engine Conversions forum would be the place to go for this.

As stated by the other users, price is a major difference. I've ridden in both at an autocross and both were extremely impressive. I chose a FD because I've always loved the design, inside and out, and I'm willing to pay a bit more and spend more time on a LS swap for it. If you want to go cheap (money and time wise only) then go for the FC.
