low coolant buzzer problem!
 

was driving around the other day . pulled it in and was changing some wiresand swaped the alternator to a 93 for more amps. pulled MAF sensor off the intake just for craps and giggles to check the turbo for shaft play ( and no play :) ) and accidently started it up w/o the MAF sensor , realized something was definatly wrong lol.

i shut it off , pluged it in , ran good . drove it around and low coolant buzzer was going off at a red light . but as i drove off at the turn of gree, it went away. parked it to find out the next morning that it was leaking coolant.

found a hose clamp was missing so i replaced it .

now its not leaking by the aluminum rad, but a small amount of smoke abve the turbo around the intake mani and the housings.

collant buzzer is still constant ( verry annoying by the way ) although the coolant is full .

How do i fix the coolant buzer and light ?
and i think the smoke/leak is a water pump gasket? hopefully not the deck seals :scratch:

low coolant problem is a sender that has one wire goin to the top of the rad.If teh sender is not hooked up the Buzzer goes off.
Now if the wire is busted you can "temporarily" fix the Buzzing by grounding out the wire that come off of the harness to Metal.
Coolant leak?.I can't say as you should be checking that yourself when the car is hot.

I just disconnected it i would rather check my own coolant level, Rather than relay on a sensor.

Well.Technically Yes.Grounding will stop the buzzer.
BUT,If the engine ever loses coolant ,you will never know UNTIL the engine Croaks on ya.You can get a tendency to forget that the problem existed if you have it grounded.
That is why I Said "Temporarily". The best thing to do is to fix the low coolant sensor problem by getting another one that works!

i had the same problem. SUCKS!! but temporarily disabled it by cutting the coolant sensor and grounding it to a bolt on the hood latch and watched the temperature constantly topping off until i got it fixed. very lame

Ended up grounding the sensor wire after I fixed the loose hose clamp . But like others have said ... Grounding it out may not be the best choice if you don't regularly check your fluids or if something begins to leak while driving you wouldn't know untill the motor begins to cook

that damn thing buzzes with only a teaspoon of coolant is missing, its so annoying. maybe its working fine just you have to top it up.

It's completely full . For some strange reason when I had my leak it was almost as if making it go on and off a few times was the last of its day .. I'll end up scooping up a new one before the season starts
