Looking for help - custom starter

I have a 1986 13B bolted to a 091 bus trans, 48MM webber side draft, custom header exhaust, and MSD's in a four seat sand rail. Have had it four 13 years. Runs awesome.

Looking for some help with a replacement starter. I heard these engines like to be turned over faster. Heard suggestions of a 6 volt starter with 12 volt solenoid. Anyone know where I can get a new one ?.

Try looking for some intended for Subaru powered buggies. My Dad's buggy has an RX-7 starter that has been modified to work with an 091 VW transaxle. He bought it through the engine/chassis builder of the car. I can't remember the name of the company right now, but I can also suggest searching the forum for rotary powered buggies. There are others, and you might find the info you're looking for.

Starter for RX7

He all

Really lat to this conversation but go to hitorque.com ( Hi Torque IMI Performance Products, 888-244-8675). Part # IMI-104-N.

Works great on my 13B bolted to 091 trans.
