lightway flywheel in conjuntion with stage III clutch on a 13B!!

Not sure whether this is true or not but I've been told that a lightway flywheel will kill the torque ration on the 13B TT Engine. I am looking into this mod to help my engine rev more freely but don't want to kill the torque either.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

A lightweight flywheel requires more RPM on launch due to lower inertia. This of course is the same reason that it makes the engine rev more freely. Two sides of the same coin. Combine that with a clutch that has an on-off action and the car feels like it has no low end and is a pain in the ass to drive.

Thanks for your replay back, pretty helpful input however, I just have one more last question before taking my decision.

Based on your comment this will not be a good mod. for lunching and I can see why but would you think this coiuld be a potentiall advantage for Drifiting purposes?

I would think that having the engine reving freely will some how and to a limited proportion, contribute to keep the speed ratio during turns but not sure if this could be a good aproach to that theory.

I don't know anything about drifting so I can't comment.
