Lifting a first gen on a budget

Well I am the semi proud owner of probably the ugliest RX-7 Pickup in the US right now and I am getting ready to lift it but I have ran into a bit of a budget problem due to the fact that I had to learn how to work fiberglass and bondo....yea I kinda had to use allot of bondo! anyways now I am wanting to lift the car about three inches and pop some A/T tires under it though i was wanting to know if i could steal the suspension off of any other vehicals from the local scrap yard that would achive the same ends as buying newat a fraction of the price. p.s if anyone needs the rear glass from an 84 hit me up haha

Rally racing?

The cheapest, easiest, way to lift the thing would be to space the subframe down and space the top of the struts down. Then install longer springs front and rear, etc.

Handling will be effected.

If you want to do it correctly, it's going to take longer LCAs in the front.

Yes more of a rally car but it will really just be a utility truck

alright we completed the lift with the help of a old lexus and a Gt Mustang.....yea it is janky as shit. the next question is if I do an engine swap would anyone buy a 12a with 140k with a 5 speed for enough money to make it be worth my while.

The the biggest thing with an engine swap is I would rather see someone make use of the old school powertrain as opposed to using it in a janky redneck rally car hahaha. plus I can score a 302 for around 500

Also Are the K1 4x110's still valuable at all? I will probably keep them unless I find something better to throw mud tires on

the 12A (if in good condition) will sell, no problem. the transmission may take a little longer, but would probably sell, too. if the K1s you refer to are those 6-spoke Kosei wheels, then value will totally depend on the buyer, so it's impossible for me (or any non-buyer) to answer. unlike the 12A and tranny, i don't think there is a REAL demand for them unless you hang with people that race these cars. you could always bait the hook and see what bites (just don't try to bait it in this forum :)).

Alright that's good to know. I might keep the rims since 15" must tires are still common
