life span of 93 fd 13b motor
 

93 fd all stock motor just got rebuilt by goopy. I take good care of all my cars motor oil every 2000 miles premium gas only and I just cruise the fd give or take how many miles should I get out of this motor:scratch:

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm new to rx7's and rotary engines but I'm planning to pick up a FD hopefully this month

drive it hard you can expect 50,000. ive seen people that have had theirs for 100,000. most people dont get more that 100,000 unless you drive it like its your cream puff

Haha that sounds like what my buddy told me, he has a RX-8 but he told me that the engines are basically "disposable"... although he didn't mention anything about driving like a cream puff lol xD

The longevity of an engine influenced by too many variables...care, driver, climate, tune and the quality of the rebuild if it's seen one. BUT, generally speaking...IMO, N/A lasts about twice as long as forced Induction. The reason is heat, and heat = stress.
Regarding the FD specifically, it seems like around 100k on an otherwise well maintained, adult driven, never over-heated STOCK car and you'll loose a coolant seal. The price you pay for FI. That can be mitigated by cooling mods...larger radiator, dual oil coolers etc. But probably not by much. Auxillary injection/water injection may be the best bet for increased longevity. Some guys swear by it for their tracked cars. We'll see on my streeted car. Has about 35k on the rebuild now.

Seems true, pretty much all n/a cars reguardless of make or engine type usually last longer

Cam at Pettit says oil in the gas is the key...to longevity. I will be religious about this.
