Left Vacuum Line off under intercooler

SO I dropped something that fell under the intercooler yesterday, I pulled the bolts out and loosened the clamps pulled up just enough to reach what fell. Well apparently the vacuum line, pretty decent size, came off the intake nipple. It started fine and I drove it for about 20 miles and I lost power over 5K rpms. It just would choke out anything over that. Got home. left it sitting overnight and now it will not start. Finally started smoked like HELL, white smoke, left it running for about 15 mins, killed it and came back tonite, will not start again. Pulled plugs they are soaked in what smells like fuel. Pulled the intercooler and found the vacuum line off.
Do you think it ran lean and did damage? I never noticed it idling any different.

Massive air leak so that it wouldn't run properly, flood, etc.

Reconnect vacuum line, unflood car, drive. :)

So you think it would flood it instead of running it lean with a vacuum leak thats on the intake?

You already know it runs like crap with the vacuum leak.
Did it run OK with NO Vacuum leak?
there ya have it!..
Survey Says:...Fix the leak and enjoy the car!
(its fine)

So after fixing it today, I got it started, smoked like hell again. Let it run for a minute or two. Killed it and went to work. Came back here tonite, will not even think about firing off. Not even a pop out the exhaust. I dont understand it. Will be pulling the plugs here shortly.

It smoked like hell because all the fuel from it flooding burned out, theres only one place for the fuel to go-out the exhaust.

Rotary >Pistons

figured out the fuel pump is done. I pulled it out and its extra crispy. Time to pull the tank and do some major varnish cleaning.

yep, ordered new fuel filter, and probably going to pull the injectors out as well and have them professionally cleaned. this thing has been sitting for 20 years untouched with a full tank of gas

So new fuel pump went in, still kept flooding. pulled the plugs and turned it over. sounds like it has alot of compression, so I keep turning it over till all the fuel is out of the engine (fuel pump is unplugged) after all that fuel was out, it no longer sounds like there is any compression at all. In either rotor.
