JDM ecu okay to run with 91 octane ???

Hey guys!

I'm swapping in a JDM motor into my fd. My question is can I run the JDM ecu with 91 octane ? . I don't have access to any of the us harness or ecu. Thanks for the help

yes... so long as its not the newer ecu with the white plugs. are the ports on it square or rectangle?

I'm going to look to confirm. I will post the ecu code to see which year it is from. I think the ports were square from what I could tell

if it looks like that then you cant use it or the engine harness

C rex thanks alot brotha appreciate it ! There isn't alot of posts with this. Reason why is I know in Japan they run the equivalent to 98 I octane. So that wouldn't be good !

well... not exactly lol its pretty common that people think that. the octane level in japan is measured in a different unit giving it a higher number. like km/h vs mp/h.

no problem though. welcome to the forum. theres a lot of information on here and the regulars are more than willing to help.

I see. Thanks for clarifying that. I'm going to confirm which plugs I have then go from there!
