idle problems
 

Hi all I'm think I'm having a problem with my cars idle it's a RX7 fd 1992 the car from cold will idle at 1000 rpm but when warmed up it just stays at a 1000 rpm I'm not sure if when cold it should be at 1500 rpm then drop to a 1000 rpm.

If I recall correctly,It depends on if your car is in gear or started from the gear selector in a neutral position.
If you start the car in First,when cold the car should go to down to "idle speed".

FD's start and idle at about 1k-1100 and progressively drop down to ~860 after a few minutes. not sure where you heard 1500 and 1000 from...

you should be able to easily get it where it needs to be with the idle set screw on the front of the throttle body. leave the air bypass screw alone.

hi there thanks for the replies like what you said it does idle at 1k then drops abit when warm when i first got the car it was idling at over 2k but i got new gaskits for the intake manifold and it dropped to just under 1k according to the pfc ecu. I just got a bit worried some thing might be wrong as I've not had a fd in years

then it depends on where the pfc idle setting is.

Hmm, a friend of mine is having similar issues with his idle revs fluctuating a bit too much. New gaskets sounds like that should do the trick

Mine idles over 2k in like a min or two and then drops down to 1k and once it warms up it stays at 850. Is that normal?

And also my coolant temp stay really low and never goes any higher than mid way point

you should post your own threads, it helps keep confusion down in answering people's questions. also, you own an FD or a different year car? your name suggests you own an FC, which is a completely different warmup scenario.
