Ideal WHP w Bolt Ons on FD
I come from the Z32 world and with good set of bolt ons, people average 400whp, conservatively.
What's ideal whp with FD with Bolt Ons only, conservative tune? |
it's a question only your wallet can answer!
..and since the ECU can't be tuned you need to "bolt on" one that can be tuned. |
About 330 hp. Your opinion, expectations, and mileage will vary...
And remember the weight difference, these cars turn and stop great! |
^Beat me to it. The OP seems interested in numbers. It's about 600 lbs. difference.

Leaving Fat girls out of your car tends to make the car go quicker too!...
|
To give you more help, and details:
What is your budget? What do you consider 'conservative'? My 'conservative' was limited by staying with stock injectors, not dramatically shortening engine life, and not changing bodywork/structure. You will still need: a computer, well tuned; better oil and water cooling; intake-downpipe-catback-SMIC; etc. Cheers! |
^Agree with HadaVette...again.
What is "ideal" to some will not be to others. If you're in search of impressive numbers, costs go up and longevity goes down. If you're in search of impressive performance I don't think that's the case. FWIW, I'm making about 350 crank (300 whp) and I'm satisfied. But then I'm older than dirt. Mods are in my signature. |
