I have a large list of problems with my 87 FC N/A.

So, I just got my car moving and running after sitting for 3 years so now time to fix the bugs.

List is
Fuel gauge not working.
oil pressure gauge not working
Temp gauge not working
Seat belt don't work
Brake lights don't work
Stutter from 1000 to 3000 rpm
After it warms up it idle like a race car. It goes like up down up down with the idle

I think there is more lol

But I need help to get these things fixed before I go driving.

welcome. :)

where was the car being stored for those 3 years and were these issues present before you stopped driving it?

fuel gauge is probably the float/sending unit. luckily you have easy access to the tank.

oil pressure and temperature gauges ... start at the senders, if they check out fine, move to the harness.

seat belts??? what exactly is the issue here? i thought the motorized belts came in with the Series 5 cars.

brake lights ... i will assume you already checked the obvious (i.e.: the bulbs), so check the switch next.

stutter and hunting issue ... start with the TPS.

if there is more ... bring it! :)

Besides the Speedometer, all gauges are powered by the Meter fuse in the interior fusebox so check and possibly replace that.

TPS needs to be set w/the engine as hot as possible (20 minutes or so of driving time). W/key to on and engine fully hot, the voltage on the Green/Red TPS wire ( three wires in TPS plug) needs to read 1 volt. If it is off then adjust the one inch long, flat headed screw, encased in a spring, and rests upon the throttle linkage til it reads 1 volt.

Update

I drove the car for the first time and I fing love it ! Too bad it starting rain right when the fuse for windshield wiper went lol
Now the temp gauge only goes up to quarter when it clearly is over heating
Smokes pours out of the hood . It appears to be coming from the coolant over flow.

Oil pressure gauge dousnt work at all

Fuel gauge only goes up to quatre tank or 60$ of gas dousnt do anything lol

No dash nights

And when I ripped out all the old nasty Intior me and my Freind found a bunch of cut wires and getto stuff.

Fixed the seat belt

And all the lights on the outside all the car works

There is a lot of smoke that comes out of this thing a lot as in it looks like its about to blow. I neeeed that fixed

Thanks for all the help

And it ideals at like 300rpm sometimes . Not 3000 . 300

You might need a oil pressure sender to fix the problem. Find the sender and disconnect the wire to it. Then ground the wire and turn the key to on.. The gauge needle should rise to the top. This will verify if the gauge itself is working. If it is then replace the sender unit. And only ground the necessary wire just to check the functionality of the gauge to prevent from damaging it.

And the fuel pump has a fuel level sender as well which likely needs replacing.

Red/Green wire of the headlight harness should have voltage w/headlight knob turned to the first position. This wire powers the interior dash lights. If there is no voltage then either the switch is bad or the Illumination fuse is blown. If there is voltage but no lights then the problem is likely caused by the headlight harness.
