How to unflood 1985 GSL-SE

I flooded my fuel injected GSL-SE. How do I unflood it? I know I need to remove plugs to dry out but how long to dry out and somebody told me I need to remove coil wire to prevent fire and fuel pump sender to crank out the gas without a spark. But is this needed?
don't know where the fuel pump sender/fuse is.

I think the archive has a thread about that. Good luck.

On an EFI Rotary Engine such as found in your GSL-SE, unflooding is easy. Just pull the fuse labeled "EGI" from the underhood fuse box, crank for 5-10 seconds, put the fuse back in and it should start right up The EGI fuse is what supplies power to the ECU, which triggers the injectors and coils.

In most cases, it isn't necessary to pull the spark plugs.

I used a syringe and pushed a little motor oil in the spark plug holes after spinning it over with no plugs and the EGI fuseable link removed.

Can't find fuse box underhood.

I don't see a fuse box or anything labeled EGI. I just see some connectors above the spark plugs area.

I can definitely tell you on my S4 ('88), that it's the EGI fuse that solves the issue, although I have to crank several times. Look for the engine fuse box, it should be in the bay somewhere, it's near the driver side strut tower in my car.

Follow the alternator's power cable to find it, remove the EGI fuse (should be 40 AMP I think?), and then crank several times for 5 to 10 seconds, then replace, and it should start up after cranking again! Good luck!

For the 2nd gen guys, there is no EGI fuse (or fuse box) under the hood on the GSL-SE. The GSL-SE uses fusible links instead. It has a block with 3 links (like all of the 1st gen 12A cars) and has a second block (with two additional links) for the injectors and ECU. While these could be unplugged, they are much more fragile than the 2nd gen fuses, so it is best not to mess with them.

In terms of unflooding, the easiest way on the GSL-SE is to unplug a blue space connector that is connected to the trailing coil (-) post. This is for the ECU signal to fire the injectors. Disconnecting this will keep the injectors from firing, but the spark plugs will still fire.
