how much hp can stock motor hold????
i was just wondering about doing mods to my vert, and i was wondering how much power the 13b can hold and how to modify it, could someone uprgrade the injectors and computer to make more power am i wrong or what are some ways to get some more power open to ideas just wondering ways to upgrade.. let me know what some opinions thanks!

Let's approach this from a different angle: how much power do you want?
|
If staying NA and not porting the engine, there'll be no need to use larger injectors. 4x460cc injectors is good for about 200 whp, which is out of range for a stock-port NA using stock manifolds. Some power could be extracted by pulling a little fuel, and maybe advancing timing slightly, so some sort of programmable computer would be useful for that.
If talking turbo, you'll have to answer Aaron's question first. |
ahh well eventually im saving for turbo motor and i was just thinking if i get new ecu like ill have to anyways for turbo motor i was just seening what maybe i could do to start getting some extra power out of the motor now.. it was just kinda a general question idk but with turbo motor maybe 400hp then maybe bigger ha. just wondering what i could get out of the stock motor for right now you know.. im debating to street port my motor, i kinda want to. so yeah what bout a street ported na what would i need, sorry not a very direct question but yeah just wondering what i could do to the stock 13b thanks again

Its gonna take a lot to hit 400hp.
You might wanna start slow and gradually move your way up. Gonna need fmic, fuel system upgrade, upgraded Turbo, standalone ecu, a really good tune etc. Rotary >Pistons |

I'm keeping my tmic but I really don't have a HP goal.
My goal is for it to run and be reliable. If I were to throw a number out there it'd be 180-200 to the wheels when I first get it running and 225-250 to the wheels when I Max out the stock turbo Rotary >Pistons |

then after that i have a borg warner that came off a 6.5L diesel
|
wait why only street port if you want reliable you go with ra seals or goopy seals both hold very well to detonation and dont shatter and take everything else with and delete the omp and go premix get standalone ems like wolf or microtech get a good tune and make sure you have the fuel to match the boost even do a monster port you can reach 400hp easy you need someone who knows
reliability in a rotary you need. detonation proof seals. good tune. and fuel to match im on a 580hp engine and runing race gas 110 octane my own tune running 11.1 afrs for over a year now and no problems want ti done and tuned right visit Sick Automotive names matt |
would a rotory move enough are to drive a diesel turbo?

You don't need a big port to get 400 HP, though porting will make it easier- all you need is a good setup on stock ports...
Basically you need a turbo that's capable of that power-(the bigger you go the more power). From there an upgraded fuel system(injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator), front mount intercooler or v-mount, upgraded 3" turboback exhaust, and a standalone ecu with a proper tune (trying to boost on a bad tune will blow your engine). I may have left out a few things but that's a pretty good list. 400 HP to the wheels can be done on stock ports, I've seen it here on the forum. Rotary >Pistons |
Yeah, i know i can go to a bigger port. but for now im just going to street port it. IDK if my goal is 400 anymore. Yeah it will move the diesel turbo, its only like a 63 trim i think... could be wrong. My goal right now is to just rebuild my motor, get it in the car and running. Then I will have my NA motor to play with!! YAY!! might be a NA turbo project... but cant get to ahead of myself haha
