How to identify my engine ?
Hello guys,
I'm doing my master's thesis on the Wankel engine. I have a 13B turbo in the lab where I study. I have to make it work on a test bench and adapt the engine for biofuels/hydrogen/oxyfuels etc. I'm actually stuck because my teachers can't tell me the specs of the engine. I know it's a 13B with a single turbo but I've seen online that different powers are possible for the turbo engine. I think the engine code is : E001380. I would like to know how and where I can get precise data sheets like the technical review, the engine parts and the specs. I've been searching online for a few days but I don't find anything ! We started to disassemble the engine this week but we didn't touch the engine block yet ! We used a camera to see inside of it and we saw calamine and orange deposit. We then would like to disassemble the engine block but we need a complete set of gaskets and I can't find any ... https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...c9b492075c.png https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...21bdc2121c.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...2f48893cd9.jpg My question might be stupid but it's my very first time working on an engine ... :) I'll add some picture later on. |
Looks to be a s5 t2 engine from a 1989-1991 turbo rx7. I’m quickly identifying s5 turbo, s5 omp on front cover. Need pictures of the rotor housings on the spark plug side to identify if they are s5 t2 housings or s4. You should look at the rotor’s compression chambers and identify if they are machines or cast, machined being s5 and cast being s4. If you really want to get into it, you can measure the depths of the rotor compression chambers to identify if n/a or t2 rotors.
