You need a aftermarket ecu to be able to do that if i am not mistaken?

yeah im pretty sure you do. Probably a standalone system too. Like a Haltech Platinum Series 1000. And it has anti-lag too if you got a turbo setup.

Not an aftermarket ECU. YOu need a launch control system. FD's do not have one.

I'm 100% sure that some of the more advanced ECUs have launch control. Look at this: http://www.haltech.com/index.php/pro...num-sport-1000.
The ECU has a built in feature for launch control. For example, some ECUs have a boost controller and others don't. The ones that don't, you have to buy a separate controller. But this one does have launch control so you don't have to buy a separate computer.

d'oh i was thinking traction control.

The OP needs to define launch control. The term is used many different ways. Some use it to describe a feature that builds boost on the line for a drag launch, others use it to describe traction control. Some use it to mean both. There are ECUs and other less inclusive controllers that can do one or any combination of the above.
