Herro

this is my very 1st time seeing this site and I am in the process of helping a friend rebuild his rx7, Im an auto technician, uswed to own a 92 300ZXTT, saving up for another one, anyway I have no clue about rotary engines, his engine is locked he says, havent yet checked it out, so I need some help finding the engine and general mechanical servicing areas on this forum, also I think the 350 engine is a common swap for rx7? i wanted to know if u guys think it would be cheaper to rebuild his engine or do a swap?? its an 80something rx7..thanks guys.

You don't even know the year of the car you're supposed to be fixing?

You do need to know more about the car. And you can be SAE Certified but without experience with an RX7, it''s not much use unless your working on something aft of the engine. Go to the First Gen. Section of the forum here: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/ ... find the FSM sticky and download it.
Given that you haven't even seen the car and are considering an engine swap, sounds like that's what will happen...or be attempted. There is also a section for that.

its an 86, reason why i didnt know the year is because I was talking to my friend over the phone, havent hung out with him in about a year and Ive never seen the car in person, he sent a pic to my phone, geez you guys are feisty little fellers arent ya! :egrin:

Yeah...feisty.
Let's put it another way....
YOUR going to work on a car you don't know anything about. You haven't even seen the car or have any idea what's really wrong. YOU come on this forum posting questions about a car you know nothing about. And despite this, your asking about engine swaps. Again, without knowing the year or model of the car, without seeing the car in person, without really talking with the owner, without any experience with rotary engines, without consulting a FSM despite claiming to be a professional.
Feisty enough?

Removed comments. Grow up.

LOL. Yeah, I guess that was fiesty enough. Let's see if your as good at being a "technician" as you are at name calling on the internet where you don't have to worry about getting your ass handed to you. ;)
